Hi everyone. We just wanted to give you a heads up on our thinking for
versions 1.5.23 and 1.6.2.
The current plan is to release 1.5.23 April 4 and release 1.6.2 on April 7.
Here are the key dates we will shoot for.
March 28: Freeze on changes to 1.5 language ini files (if we have any).
April 2: Freeze on 1.5 trunk.
April 2-3: build test packages and test.
April 4: release 1.5.23
March 31: Freeze on changes to 1.6 language files.
April 5: Freeze on 1.6 trunk.
April 5-6: build test packages and test
April 7: release 1.6.2.
The plan at this time is that 1.6.2 will be the last 1.6 release before
1.7.0 is released on July 10 (unless we have high-priority security issues
reported).
So, now is the time to make a push for testing issues. There are currently
41 Pending issues in the 1.6 tracker, for example. As far as 1.5 goes, the
priority will be on security fixes. However, if there are other fixes ready
to go that are a low risk of breaking anything, these can get in as well.
Once 1.6.2 is released, we can begin the process of merging new features for
1.7 into trunk. More on that later.
Thanks. Mark
