With the slow shutdown of FireBoard and pretty much all resources around it, several of the community developers of FireBoard have teamed up to bring you Kunena. Kunena is swaheli for: to speak. This is a fork from the original FireBaord code base.

In addition we have added many fixes and new features to Kunena - those we had planned all along but did not get a chance to make them happen in FireBoard.

We originally had no intention to create this legacy fork as we started working on a brand new Joomla 1.5.x based design. Due to the developments of the past couple of weeks and the shutdown of the forums on Best of Joomla, we saw the need to support the community of FireBaord users out there.

Kunena 1.0.x is directly compatible with all prior FireBoard versions. Kunena can be installed in parallel to FireBoard to test its functionality. Once you are satisfied with testing, simply uninstall FireBoard and swap the menu links to the new Kunena component. It could not be any easier and safer!
Kunena runs an open SVN repository on joomlacode.org: joomlacode.org/gf/project/kunena/scmsvn/

We regularly create new builds that are also hosted on joomlacode.org: joomlacode.org/gf/project/kunena/frs/

There is a lot more information coming and we are actively working on various new features and of course on our Joomla 1.5.x version.

Könnte bitte ein Moderator den Titelnamen in Kunena umbennen? Danke!

Die Jungs haben aber, im gegensatz zu den Phoenix leuten, aj schon angefangen weiter zu machen, sprich da gibt es schon Code zu sehen!
Das sieht, zumindest für mich, seriöser aus als Phoenix.
Mal sehen wie die so voran kommen.

Welche denn? kenne nur die obigen beiden und die ominöse russische 2.0 Fireboard

persönlich finde ich von den fireboard-versionen die 1.05 rc2 bisher am besten :-)
also sollte man dann wohl auf kunena (Kuh+Nena... so merkt man sich das^^) umsteigen?

vom ersten fork halte ich übrigens garnichts. und die russische version, nja^^
kann man kunena schon produktiv einsetzen? was sind die bisherigen unterschiede zur letzten fireboard 1.05 rc2? ist sie schon native?

FireBoard 1.5 RC2 braucht immer noch den Legacy Mode. Habe gerade vor 3 Tagen diese Version installiert. Einen Großen unterschied zu den Vorgängern habe ich nicht gemerk, außer dass man z.B. im Backend einstellen kann, was als Startseite des Forums angezeigt werden soll (Kategorien, neueste Beiträge, etc).

ich meinte jetzt Kunena
was Fireboard 1.05 RC2 kann, weiß ich ja... (vorallem SEO wurde damals verbessert =))
